Aloha Everyone!! The Texas temps are HOT this week and Hawaiian Falls is the perfect place to cool off while having fun! We recently visited the Hawaiian Falls in The Colony and had a blast! This water park is filled with fun water slides and features that will please kids of all ages. I’ve listed ten tips to enjoy your day at Hawaiian Falls in The Colony.
Location of Hawaiian Falls:
Hawaiian Falls is located at 4400 Paige Rd in The Colony.
It’s about a 30 minute drive from Dallas and right off 121.
Parking is free!
When To Visit Hawaiian Falls in The Colony:
The Hawaiian Falls season typically starts at the end of May and closes at the beginning of September.
Hours vary depending on the day of the week and month. For an up to date calendar, check out their website HERE.

Tips for Hawaiian Falls in The Colony:
1. Get There Early
Make sure to get there when they open so that you can snag chairs. The prime spots fill up fast, so lay out a few towels to hold them.
Then hit the water slides! We were able to fit in our favorites before it got too crowded. It’s seriously amazing how much you can accomplish in the first hour compared to the rest of the day!
2. Reserve a Cabana
This is so worth the added expense! Their are different cabanas to choose from. We had one that was near the wave pool which was a perfect spot to watch everything going on.
They have a cabana attendant that is with you all day. She checked on us periodically to see if we wanted to order drinks or food. Another perk is we didn’t have to wait in line for food! And the food was delivered to us!
New this year, they offer mobile food ordering!
The private cabana we stayed in had two lounge chairs, four regular chairs and a small table. It was covered and we could close the curtains for privacy or if the sun was bothering us. Highly recommend!!!
3. Bring a Cooler
If you plan on spending the day, I recommend bringing a cooler. It’s a $15 charge to bring in a cooler but worth it. I knew we would eat at the park, but still wanted to have extra bottled waters and fruit.
I love that they offer this option, since so many of us have picky eaters in the family or dietary restrictions.
No glass or alcohol.
By the way, the food at Hawaiian Falls is good and decently priced unlike other water parks. We enjoyed pizza, burgers and chicken fingers.
4. Check The Slides Height Requirements at Hawaiian Falls in The Colony
If you have younger kids, I recommend checking the website for the slide height requirements before visiting. Hopefully it can help prepare kids mentally to know what they will or will not be able to ride. It’s saved us a few tantrums over the years!
5. Wear Shoes
Texas summer weather can heat up the concrete fast! While there are some areas that you can get away with being barefoot, I recommend bringing cheap flip flops. We had no issues with bringing them on water slides or leaving them by the lazy river entrance. It will save your feet I promise!
Hawaiian Falls in The Colony does a cool water walkway feature that is awesome! It will definitely keep your feet cool but it doesn’t go through the whole park.
6. Check Out The Wave Pool
You guys this is seriously the coolest wave pool I’ve visited! There’s a huge movie screen that constantly plays something throughout the day like Hawaiian themed videos or music videos. Speaking of music, their playlist is filled with top current family friendly music hits.
Oh and of course, there’s the awesome waves!
7. Dive In Movies at Hawaiian Falls in The Colony
Go during one of their dive in movie nights! They play top movies every Friday night in July. That perfect wave pool is the setting for this fun feature. It was awesome watching Wonder Woman while chilling on a tube!
8. Bring a waterproof phone holder
I love these! It holds my phone, cash and a credit card. I don’t have to worry about leaving anything around while enjoying the slides. Plus, I can take pictures and video without having to worry about my phone getting damaged.
9. Rent a Locker
If you want complete peace of mind and not have to carry anything with you, rent a locker. The small lockers are $10 for the day.
10. Ride The Bonsai Pipeline First
From observing the lines all day, I noticed that this line tended to be the longest. You’ve got to wait for a free inner tube and then wait in line for the actual ride. It’s a set of three different water slides and so much fun!
