Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, is a destination in itself. It’s a sport lovers paradise full of fun restaurants and unique museums. There’s enough here for a perfect weekend getaway. Here is a list of fun things to do in Frisco.
Fun Things To Do in Frisco:
See A Baseball Game
The Frisco Roughriders, a minor league team that feeds into the Rangers, play baseball at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark. It’s a cute stadium! Lawn tickets are cheap and they have special offers during the season as well. Plus the coolest thing ever, they have a lazy river!! The Texas heat won’t be an issue if you’re chilling on a tube while watching the game! The first home game of the 2020 season is April 16th and the last is September 7th.
Watch A Soccer Game
Frisco is home to the FC Dallas soccer team!! They play at Toyota Stadium. The seats are not quite as cheap as the Roughriders, but definitely worth it! Their 2020 season starts February 29th and the last home game is September 26th.
National Soccer Hall of Fame
Next door to the stadium is the National Soccer Hall of Fame. They are closed Monday and Tuesday, so plan accordingly.
$15 for adults $12 for youth (12 and under) $12 for Seniors (65 and older)
The Star
The Star in all its 91 acres hosts the Dallas Cowboy Headquarters, special events, fantastic restaurants and retail stores. The whole area has the Dallas Cowboys theme going on. Very cool for Cowboy fans like my hubby. There’s a football field on the premises for families to play on as well.
National Video Game Museum
This is a fun and unique museum! A whole museum dedicated to video games! They showcase the history, different gaming consoles and have a mini arcade.
I had a blast from the past with the 1980’s living room set up and teen bedroom!
They are closed on Mondays.
$12 General Admission $10 Kids 10 and under $10 Seniors & Military
Frisco Square
This is another area in Frisco that has restaurants and shops. During the holidays, they have a spectacular light display synchronized to music and hosts regular events throughout the month. This year they had an outdoor ice rink which was awesome! Highly recommend to visit during the month of December!
Monster Mini Golf
This is a fun monster themed indoor mini golf place. Perfect for a rainy or super hot Texas summer day!
It’s an 18 hole black light course that will entertain the whole family! Perfect for kids, teens or date night.
Open daily, check their website for more details.
Admission: $10 for little monsters and $12 for big monsters.
Frisco Heritage Center & Museum
The Frisco Heritage Museum features exhibits on the history of Frisco. Their are historic buildings around the museum that you can walk around. It features historic homes, a church, blacksmith shop and a school house.
Open Tuesday through Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday.
Fun Places To Eat
Babe’s Chicken
Babe’s is the perfect place to go for a Texas experience. It’s family friendly, the best fried chicken, rustic looking and they sing the Hokey Pokey! They have family style eating, which means you pick the protein and they bring you an endless supply of their delicious sides. Highly recommend!
Hutchins Barbeque
Texas is known for barbeque and this will not disappoint! It’s my favorite BBQ in the DFW area! They have the best chopped beef sandwich! My husband loves everything on the menu if chopped beef isn’t your thing. Open 11am – 9pm everyday. They have been known to run out of food, so go earlier in the day if this is a must do….and it should be!
Nerdvana Spirits
This is a fun restaurant! I honestly don’t remember what I ate here, but the entertainment was great! Every table has a different video game console with remotes. We got to play an old Nintendo and it took me back to my teens! I haven’t played Super Mario in years, but was still able to beat my daughter!
Fun Places To Shop
Frisco Fresh Market
I love farmer’s markets and having one so close now is awesome! It’s only open on Saturday and Sundays. They usually host fun events on the weekends as well. Definitely check it out!
Stonebriar Center
This is your typical mall with lots of big retailers, a few restaurants and movie theater. Perfect destination to avoid the Texas heat or rainy weather.
KidZania just opened up recently. It looks like a lot of fun for kids. It’s a city for kids run by kids. They built an actual small town with 55 buildings. For ages 4-13. Mine are a tad to old, so we haven’t checked it out.
Frisco Mercantile
A unique store with different vendors that sell antiques, crafts, old records and other things that you just can’t live without.
As you can see there are plenty of fun things to do in Frisco TX!
