During our BBQ Day in Lockhart, we took a break from the eating and came here for a hike. It was nice that this park is so close to town, but still felt like we were getting away. Here’s the complete guide to Lockhart State Park.

Hike

There are several trails here with varying length and difficulty. They are easy to put together to create a giant loop of the park.

Put these together to make a giant loop:

  • Clear Fork Trail – .5 miles one way
  • Creekview Trail – .2 miles one way
  • Persimmon Trail – .2 miles one way
  • Chisholm Trail -.5 miles one way
  • Comanche Loop – .1 miles – a detour off the Chisholm Trail
  • Caddy Trail – .1 miles one way
  • CCC Trail – .1 mile one way
  • This will put you out on the park road, so you’ll have to walk back to the parking lot at the beginning of the first trail. I didn’t see how long this section is, but I would guess it’s a quarter to a third of a mile long.
