Why You Need A Solo Photo Shoot!

Have you had a professional photo shoot of just you with in the last couple of years? If not, I’m giving you six reasons why you need a solo photo shoot soon!

Last year my photographer friend talked me into having a photo shoot done of myself. I was just about to launch this blog so I knew I should do it. However a large part of me wanted to wait till my hair was perfect, I lost more weight, I had time for a professional makeover, etc. I had many excuses. In fact, if I would have waited for those things to happen I’d still be waiting. Read on for reasons why you shouldn’t wait to do a photo shoot.

Reason #1 Why You Need a Solo Photo Shoot- You

The number one reason is it gets you in the picture! How many times do you end up taking pictures of everyone else and then have none of yourself? As a mom, this happens to me ALL the time! Now to be fair, most of the time I’m fine with it. I prefer being behind the camera instead of in front of it. However when I need a picture of me and there are none to be found, it kinda sucks.

Use Your Creativity

You get to be creative! This shoot is all about you! You get to pick your outfits, your props, your setting….everything!!! If you’re not creative, hopefully your photographer is and will bring out the real you in the pictures. You can always get ideas from Pinterest before your shoot.

Time For Yourself

You get the opportunity to spend a few hours on just you! Just you! It’s a time to relax and not think or stress. This is similiar to the last reason, but you get to just be you. Not having to worry if everyone is looking at the camera and smiling. Just you! It can be a much needed break from the daily grind.

You can even make a day of it and get your hair and nails done before the shoot. Then go out on the town after the shoot!

Memories

Hopefully every time you see the pictures, they’ll bring back great memories. Your family will also enjoy having photos of you. My kids love looking at everyone’s pictures and they treasure the ones of family that are no longer with us. They are valuable keepsakes. Depending on the props you use, they can also represent a certain time in your life.

Functional

Almost everyone is on some form of social media. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, SnapChat, Linked In, etc. It’s so great to be able to have cute pictures for your social media profiles. Or just cute pics to post!

Fun

This may be my favorite reason! It’s FUN!!! You get to act like a model for a couple hours! Photographers are great at making people look good in different poses. It can be an awesome experience! Plus, you get cute pics out of it!
