Patrick and I recently stayed at the Lively Beach Resort in Corpus Christie on Mustang Island. It was fabulous! Two glorious days of relaxing without a care in the world before driving back to reality 🙂 I’m listing 4 reasons why you should stay at the Lively Beach Resort.

1. The Rooms

Lively Beach Resort offers room choices from a studio to a two bedroom with a deck. We stayed in a one bedroom with two bathrooms and a deck. There was more than enough space for the two of us and could sleep up to four with a pull out in the living room.

The deck and the huge windows face a natural area of the resort. The views were awesome! The resort is somewhat secluded, so there’s nothing around to block the views. The ocean is not visible because of the dunes, but I did hear it while enjoying breakfast on the deck.

One of my favorite features is the full kitchen. They had everything we needed to make meals in our room. It had a full fridge, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, cookware, dishes and all the utensils we would need.

The whole suite was extremely clean, which is super important during this Covid time. Also the added amenities were a great touch. Like two 50 inch smart TVs, luxurious baths and a comfy king bed.

2. Rooftop Patios

I was pleasantly surprised when I found the rooftop patios at Lively Beach Resort. They are huge and have many lounge chairs to choose from. We had the whole place to ourselves for the two times we enjoyed it.

One of my favorite things to do while traveling is watch the sunset. These patios are PERFECT for sunset viewing! Grab a bottle of wine to add to the experience. If you’re an early bird, they would be great for sunrise too! We ended up going down to the beach for sunrise.

Also the whole resort offers more community areas for lounging. There’s a fire pit area, a place with lawn games and of course the pool.

3. Location

The Lively Beach Resort is located on Mustang Island in Corpus Christie.

It’s a perfect destination in itself. There’s no reason to leave the property with the full kitchen and great beach access.

One of the best features is the seclusion of the resort. There are no neighbors and it’s surrounded by natural areas.

However, if you love exploring new areas, this is centrally located to a few top destinations.

The USS Lexington Museum on the Bay is a 30 minute drive from the resort. Highly recommend touring this ship!

The Texas State Aquarium is about a 30 – 35 minute drive. This is the biggest aquarium in Texas!

Port Aransas is a 20 minute drive down the coast. It’s a cute beach town.

Padre Island National Seashore is a 20 – 25 minute drive from the resort. I did not have time to explore this place, but will be back! The pictures look amazing.

4. The Beach at Lively Beach Resort!

I saved the best for last! Of course the number one reason to stay here is for the amazing beach access!

Boardwalk
Lively Beach Resort Boardwalk

The resort has a boardwalk over the sand dunes for direct beach access. It’s just a few minute walk from anywhere on the resort to be on the beach. It’s very convenient for catching the sunrise, taking a stroll or jog on the beach, or for a quick dip.

If you’ve got a family or will be hauling a bunch of items, I recommend driving. It’s a super quick drive and you can park right on the beach where you want to lounge. A parking permit is required. It was easy to get and is valid for the rest of the year.

Patrick and I enjoyed our stay here immensely and will be back! I highly recommend staying at the Lively Beach Resort if you are in the area. Again the location is perfect and the rooms are amazing!!! Perfect for couples, families, dog lovers, nature lovers and beach enthusiasts.

For coffee check out Island Joes! It’s an adorable coffee shop made out of shipping containers. It’s only a five minute drive too!

For dinner, I recommend Doc’s Seafood and Steaks. They have a perfect deck with a sunset view and live music. Plus the food was delicious!
