Looking for something unique to do in Las Vegas? Check out the Neon Museum! I visited the Neon Museum last year on a girls trip and we still talk about it!

What is the Neon Museum in Las Vegas?

The Neon Museum is a super cool open air museum where Las Vegas neon signs go to “retire”. The main outdoor exhibit is called the Neon Boneyard and it houses over 200 unrestored neon signs. The collection includes signs from Downtown Las Vegas and The Strip.

This non-profit is dedicated to educating, preserving and sharing the history and art with locals and visitors. Such a cool and unique non-profit!

It opened in 1996, but has significantly increased in popularity over the last few years due to Instagram.

The Neon Museum is located north of downtown Las Vegas.

770 N. Las Vegas Blvd. Las Vegas, NV

It’s a short Uber or Lyft car ride from the Strip. If you have a car, they have a dedicated parking lot for the museum with free parking.

When to Visit the Neon Museum?

The Neon Museum is open year round. The hours vary depending on the time of year.

You can choose between visiting during the day or at night, so it depends on what kind of experience you want.

During the day, you can take better quality photos and have fun getting great pics!

At night, you get to see some of the fully restored signs lit up! Keep in mind that the other signs will be lit by external spotlights. It is hard to take good quality photos at night.

Neon Museum Experience in Las Vegas

When you first arrive, you will head to the visitor center to check in. It’s located in the former La Concha Motel and has a cool retro vibe.

We did the guided night tour. She was super informative and gave tons of history about Las Vegas in general plus each sign we walked by.

There were six of us in our group and we all enjoyed the tour.

I’ll be visiting again during the day, so I can get some really great pictures.
