I recently went with a friend to Macon, Georgia to visit their Cherry Blossom Festival. During our two days there, we stayed at the historic boutique Hotel Forty Five in the downtown area of Macon. Hotel Forty Five is a Tribute Portfolio Hotel.

I highly recommend staying here! Super easy to book, friendly staff and the perfect location for everything we wanted to do in Macon.

Hotel Forty Five

Hotel Forty Five Location:

Hotel Forty Five is in the heart of downtown Macon, so it’s very convenient to walk around the area. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Restaurants within walking distance:

  • The Rookery – They have delicious burgers!
  • H&H Restaurant- Amazing southern cooking!
  • Dovetail
  • Downtown Grill
  • Ocmulgee Brewpub
  • Parish on Cherry

It’s centrally located to other must see sights in Macon as well. I’d say you can get most places within 10-12 minutes.

The city of Macon is about an hour south of Atlanta.

It’s 78 miles from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport.

Hotel Forty Five Property:

The hotel gets it’s name from the property being located on a unique 45 degree angle. This property is brand new and opened in February of 2022! It’s in a historic building, but with a modern twist. The hotel offers 94 hotel rooms, a fitness room, coffee shop, restaurant, and a rooftop bar and lounge.

The decor throughout the hotel is modern with a musical twist. Macon is the birthplace of famous musicians and the hotel does a wonderful job of incorporating that into the decor.

During our stay, it was too windy to enjoy the rooftop lounge, but I imagine it would be perfect most of the year. It has a wonderful view of Macon.

We did not get a chance to try Loom, the restaurant on property. The menu looked delicious, but we were set on a burger from The Rookery.

There is no self parking connected to the hotel, but they do offer valet. The valet pricing is $18 for the day. The valet guys are awesome! Super friendly and excellent customer service! My friend accidentally left her phone in our rental. The valet guy ( I don’t remember his name) ran down, found the phone and brought it up to our room.

Our Room At Hotel Forty Five:

Our room was located on the seventh floor, so we had an excellent view from the windows. It was spacious and had a nice size television, desk, comfy chair and king size bed.

The bed was super comfortable! I loved the pillows!

Little added amenities included a cute mini retro looking fridge and in room coffee maker with coffee.

The bathroom was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Plus, I loved how they provided peach scented shampoo, conditioner and body wash!

What’s Nearby?

Downtown Macon

Again, many places to eat and shop in the downtown area. I recommend walking through the area during part of your stay.

The Big House Museum

Have you heard of the Allman Brothers? They lived and practiced here! Every room shows a bit of the band’s history plus individual members. Having never heard of them, I ended up learning a bunch on the self guided tour of the house.

It’s only a 7 minute drive from Hotel Forty Five.

Ocmulgee Mounds National Historic Park

This National Historic area preserves prehistoric American Indian sites. Many different Indian cultures occupied the land.

There are trails throughout the park that will lead you to the mounds. They preserved one mound, so you can go inside to see what it’s like and imagine how they lived all those years ago.

This is an 8 minute drive from Hotel Forty Five.
